Even though I’m not 100% finished decorating our home for Christmas just yet, I’m excited to join my blogger friends to share my Christmas decorations for the Merry & Bright Holiday Home Tour.
Christmas Home Tour
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3
So today, WELCOME to my home that’s (mostly) decorated for Christmas! Let’s get down to business…
This year I went for a very traditional color palette – snowy white with lots of red. It’s the first year that our son, Cian has any concept of what’s happening (although he simply refers to ALL Christmas related things as “Ho, Ho, Ho”) so I thought that keeping things somewhat traditional would be fun.
The showstopper in the living room is definitely the 7 ft Prince Flocked tree from King of Christmas. It puts all other trees to shame. Even before it was decorated, it was thick and full and honestly, perfect. I’ve never seen an artificial tree that looks good bare before.
The tree is decorated with ornaments from a variety of stores. All the white furry ornaments as well as the fur garland are from Pier 1, the star is from Target and the red baubles and faux berries are all dollar store items. Additionally, there’s some sparkly IKEA ornaments and some red cardinals that I picked up at Michael’s.
Look at that flocking! I was worried that a flocked tree might shed all over the living room but once it was fluffed and decorated, it hasn’t shed even a speck.

I couldn’t find any flocked garland that I liked for the mantel, so I just added some fresh greens that I picked up at my local farmstand.
The red lanterns are from Ikea and the stockings are from Target. As you can see, I tried to incorporate the pops of red throughout to make the room feel cohesive.
Coming back around to the couch, again it’s all pretty simple. To complement the flocked tree, I wanted a textural element and I thought these furry white throw pillows were perfect. Paired with the solid red pillows and white chenille pillows, they make for a very comfy couch.
Of course, milk and cookies must be left out for Santa.
Moving through the living room and into the hallway….
The garland on the stairs is fresh greenery again and I just tied it to the railings with dollar store bows.
Upstairs, our bedroom is equally festive thanks to this quilt and shams from Pottery Barn. The end tables have bristle brush trees in a variety of sizes, some more Ikea lanterns and a little snow globe that I picked up at HomeGoods.
Next week I’ll be back to share our dining room, basement and the exterior of our house as well as some other little touches that I’m in the process of finishing up.
Have you started decorating for the holidays yet? Do you have a specific theme or color you’re going with? Let me know in the comments!
