If you've been on the house tour lately you'll have noticed that based on the rooms in the tour, my house seems pretty tiny. The truth is, there are several additional rooms in my house that are such a mess that they couldn't be put on the blog. One of those rooms in the office, or "middle room" as we call it (it's the middle room in the hallway!).
This is what it looked like yesterday:
I'm embarrassed that we let it get this way. When we were renovating the bathroom and kitchen, this room kind of became a dumping ground from extra appliances and pictures that no longer had a wall to hang on. On top of that, all my craft materials and school stuff just seemed to get piled on top of the desk. I would close the door and choose not to deal with it.
Lately, we've had some unexpected guests and I just couldn't stand to be embarrassed by this room one minute longer. So, I cleaned and cleaned and tidied and threw out a ton of junk!
Apologies for the blown out window. This room has the worst light, but doesn't it look SO much bigger? You'll notice that I added some curtains. I had previously bought these curtains for the living room and LOVED them, but then came across the amazing teal ones that are currently in the living room and they got switched out.
There's still a lot of cables going on, but I can deal with that for a while. I'm also thinking of doing full height billy bookcases if I ever recuperate from the failure of my last billy project.
Do you see the map of the USA over the desk? I made that a few weeks ago and sent it to Shutterfly to get printed. It arrived yesterday and I really like how it turned out!
Aaaaand...just because I love you guys so much, you can download the map print right here for free! Just click the link after the image below to download the map art in pdf format.
