I'm thrilled to announce a fun and exciting partnership with Walmart over the coming months that's going to give me the ability to showcase some of their amazing and very affordable home products.
This month I'm excited to show you how to quickly make over your bedroom for the summer months to achieve a contemporary coastal design vibe. If you've been on this blog for more than 2 minutes you'll have noticed my love of all things blue - so of course the coastal design trend is completely in keeping with my own personal style.
The best thing about how I've designed this room is that if you were to start from scratch, you could buy every single item for under $1400. Isn't that crazy!? Walmart's home offerings - whether it's furniture, art or decor - are truly affordable and really on trend.

OK - so let's say we're starting with a pretty standard bedroom. You've got your bed, a side table, a rug, some curtains and an armchair. Everything is a relatively neutral color palette (I use blue as one of my neutrals throughout my home btw). By layering in some additional items, we can completely change the look of the room to get that coastal feeling that's perfect during these summery months.
I've talked about how to get the coastal look before - remember the key elements: shades of blue, white and neutral; lots of organic elements like rattan and wood; layering textures; and a pop of greenery (always - no matter what the style is!)

Notice what I've added to the bedroom - a rattan light fixture and basket, a clear glass lamp that will work with any decorating style, the fiddle leaf fig and tabletop plant for the essential touch of greenery, a cozy throw blanket and new duvet cover, a blue fringed throw pillow as well as a white textured throw pillow and finally some coastal wall art - the group of 4 pictures, the anchor and the ocean scene.
I love this style for the summer because it's really easy to switch out a few items to get a different look once fall rolls around. Keeping the base of the room simple with the wooden bed, white nightstand, white curtains, gray patterned rug and blue armchair we have a beautiful palette that works with every season but can easily be switched up for fall by adding some navy blue and a touch of mustard, burnt orange or burgundy throw pillows, and then switching up the artwork.
Fun right?
Now that you see how affordable Walmart's home decor offerings are, will you be shopping this look for yourself?
