How to Make a Farmhouse Style Merry Christmas Framed Glass Sign
Watch the video below to see me make it! Can't watch a video right now? All the instructions are below, too!
What You'll Need
*affiliate links included for your convenience*
- Merry Christmas Template (download here) or print up your own phrase
- Oil Based Sharpies (I used fine and extra-fine)
- Alcohol wipes (in case you make a mistake and to clean the glass beforehand)
- Gorilla glue pen (or any other glue that will adhere the glass to the frame securely)
Print up the template. Remove the glass from the picture frame and wipe it down with an alcohol wipe.
Tape the template to the glass so that when you flip it over, the template is facing you the correct way.
Trace the outline of each letter with a fine tip oil-based Sharpie and then fill in with color. Be slow and careful but if you make a mistake you can easily fix it with an alcohol wipe or a q-tip.
Remove the template from the glass. Fix any places that don't have enough color or where the lines aren't crisp (tip: here's where the extra-fine tip comes in handy!).
Dampen the inside of the frame and then run the glue pen along the inside edge. Secure the glass in place. Wipe off any excess glue. Allow to dry for several hours.
A simple and pretty craft that results in a pretty awesome DIY Farmhouse Style Christmas Sign!
There's endless possibilities for this besides this basic phrase. You could add a drawing or keep it simple and add some falling snow to this phrase, even! So fun!
