Hors d’ oeuvres are one of my favorite ways to feed guests for a holiday get together or party. They allow for everyone to mingle and chat while still getting fed!
There's literally no end to the different types of hors d’oeuvres you could serve, but I like to keep them relatively simple and easy to make, with flavors that I know my guests will delight in.
This round up post features some of my favorite hors d’ oeuvres recipes that I know both you and your guests will find delicious!
Easy Hor d'Oeuvre Recipes
These meatballs are always a huge hit in our household, for kids and adults alike. I simply serve them in a bowl and let guests grab one with a toothpick and napkin. They are simple to make in a crockpot and require minimal ingredients, thanks to use store-bought frozen meatballs!
Who doesn’t love crunchy bread with delicious toppings? Crostini are my go-to “fancy” hors d’oeuvres. They look amazing, taste amazing but are inexpensive and easy to make. These blackberry and goat cheese crostini are one of my favorites thanks to the pairing of rich goat cheese and sweet blackberries and fragrant fresh basil.
Roast beef crostini are another delightful semi-homemade hors d’oeuvres that tastes amazing but can be whipped up in no time at all. I use high quality deli roast beef from Wholefoods and then make the horseradish cream myself. You can add as much horseradish as you like – I personally like these with a good kick!
Using crescent dinner rolls, these are super easy to make and taste delicious. Loaded with potatoes, cheese, bacon bits and of course sour cream, both kids and adults alike will devouring them.
These little phyllo pastry cups are filled with a creamy filling and topped with buttery roasted butternut squash, shallot and smoked cheddar. We make them every Thanksgiving morning as hors d’oeuvres before dinner, and I always run out. Each of my kids will easily eat 10 of these! So you’ve been warned – if you make them, eat some yourself before they are all gone!
I hope all of these hors d’oeuvres ideas have inspired you. Whichever you choose to make, I know you and your guests will thoroughly enjoy them!
