I'm back again with another entry for The Fab Furniture Flipping Contest. This month's theme is "Pure Colors, Original Elegance" and I think I've nailed it! :-)

Do you remember this red sideboard from when we lived in our apartment?
Well, the red was fun for about a month. It worked in the apartment. Not in our mainly-neutrals new house.
When I got the opportunity to try out the Pure & Original Classico line of paint - which is new to the U.S and imported directly from Bruges, Belgium - I knew I had to give this guy a new lease on life. It's a nice piece of furniture and I knew with the right choice of paint, it would be an elegant addition to our living room.
Now, you know I'm loyal to Velvet Finishes paint, which has a lovely satin finish. But Pure & Original is now officially my favorite ultra-matte paint. It is 100% mineral, chalk & water-based. The Classico line is highly pigmented which results in an exceptionally beautiful finish.
It has an amazing silky, velvety texture once dry. Without priming or sanding, it covered the red in only 2 coats.
My kind of paint. Minimal effort, maximum payoff.
Classico does not need a sealant, even with outdoor use. How awesome is that?
Take a look at some of the afters. I absolutely love how it turned out! Oh, and I used the color Slate Gray.
I set the contrast way down on the photo below. So while everything else looks a little washed out, you can get a better sense of the gray paint.
I know I owe you a full living room reveal post, too. We are 90% done with it. I just need to find new side tables and figure out the coffee table situation. Hopefully in the next month or so. The powder room makeover is my main budget focus right now!
Did you see my kitchen counter transformation? I also used Pure & Original paint for that project and the counters turned out amazing!
