Not all makeovers need to be crazy dramatic and cost a fortune. The smallest changes can completely transform a space.
Now that the kids are heading back to school, it's OK to make some time for yourself. Whether that means an extra 10 minutes in the shower , running a hot bath or even just being able to have 5 minutes to yourself while you go to the bathroom (moms of toddlers, you know what I'm saying!)....now is the time to give your bathroom some love!
Let me introduce you to my master bathroom. It's the world's smallest master bathroom but it does the trick. It needs to be completed gutted but that won't be in cards for several years. Here's what it looked like last week:
Notice the lack of storage and zero personality. Being honest, it looks dingy and gross and certainly not a place I would want to relax in.
I popped over to my local Target this weekend and grabbed a few "Bathroom Refresh" essentials. By simply switching out the towels and adding some fresh accessories, my Master Bathroom looks 100% better. Don't get me wrong - it still needs to be gutted (!!) but this is a huge improvement on the before and in-between!
Because I know someone will ask - the paint color on the wall is Serious Gray by Sherwin Williams :-)
I don't usually buy pink anything pink but these fringed towels are so gorgeous. They add the perfect amount of femininity and softness to my bathroom.
There's something about a bundle of white washcloths that I love and I never want to unbundle them, I just like them sitting there with their cute little ribbon.
This tank basket looks stylish thanks to the wicker but also smartly has 4 compartments inside that nicely stash away my makeup, lotions and potions...oh, and of course my Quilted Northern® (because Quilted Northern® is always in style!)
How cute is this towel rack that I made? Now that you have more time for yourself, you'll have time to whip one of these out! They only take about half an hour, anyway. The tutorial is right here - be sure to check it out.
Again, those towels!! Love them.
A waffle weave shower curtain and pink Threshold bath mat are a warm welcome from the plastic shower curtain that was previously there.
More storage in the form of these great mason jars which is a great solution for my makeup brushes.
And now for more on that DIY Towel Rack...
