You guys already know how much I love Velvet Finishes paint. When I found this old (and beat up) kids rocking chair in our attic, I knew it would be fab with a new coat of my favorite – and totally foolproof – paint.
This chair has been in Brian’s family since his mom was little. I love being able to bring new life to pieces like this!

Cian’s Nursery has pops of navy and mint green. Handsome, a beautiful shade of navy, is my favorite VF color but I wanted to try something different this time around so set my sights on mixing up a custom shade of mint green.
Using approximately 2 parts Understated to 1 part Enchanting, I achieved the perfect shade. Not too light, not too green.
Velvet Finishes paint mixes really well so just play with it until you get a color that you like.
I didn’t sand or prime this piece. Heck, I didn’t even clean it. Three light coats of paint gave excellent coverage which was then finished with two coats of Protect for a beautiful satin finish.
My Sweet Pea loves his new Mint Green Rocking Chair and likes to rock Ducky and Teddy back and forth in it!
P.S. How adorable is Teddy? He’s from the Andover Bear Company and I’ll be sharing more on him and his friends next week!
