The past year of work on our backyard came down to this day – the day we finally had a yard flat enough (and safe enough) to install a wooden swing set for our boys.
Our lawn badly needed to be mowed when I took these photos last week but I wanted to capture my kids’ faces the day the swing set was installed.
I think it’s obvious that they were pretty ecstatic about the whole thing :-)
For the past week, we’ve spent every single morning (bar today because it’s pouring rain) outside in our new “playground” as my oldest son calls it.
If you’re local and interested – we purchased this set through Creative Playthings. It’s proudly made in the USA with American-grown Pine and completely modular. So you can add and subtract pieces as you see fit. We started with the Williamburg series and modified it with a sandbox and few smaller accessories. Down the road if we want to significantly add on, we can do that too. Oh, and the local showroom was amazing. It’s all indoors and they have a variety of different swingsets set up so your kids can test them out, you can measure and figure out sizing and just generally figure out what would work best for your family.
Oh and the most important part? Delivery and installation are included in the price. When you see the thousands of nuts and bolts and other insanely big and heavy pieces needed to install this thing, you’ll be thankful that you’re not the one doing it!
We finally have our yard at a point where we are happy with it. We spent all that money and did all that work so that our kids could spend as much time outdoors as possible, and I’m so happy that they love it as much as we do. Here’s to years of fun and amazing memories outside!!
