Work has begun on our new patio and I couldn't be more excited! Since we bought this house over three years ago, I've had a vision for both the landscape and hardscape. Unfortunately, our landscaping 18 months ago was such a huge and expensive undertaking that my plans to also add a new deck and patio fell by the wayside.
But we've saved our money and now work on my dream patio is underway! We will also be refacing our existing deck later this summer but instead of extending it and rebuilding with Trex like we had initially planned, we are simply refacing what we have with pressure treated wood. I'll talk more about that when the time comes.
For now, let's talk a bit about the patio. This entire green area right outside our living room is what will become the patio.

It's already flat and leads off our deck so it's the perfect spot for entertaining! We are using the same mason that built our front steps and walkway (he's amazing and has a great eye for design!). He recommended using Techo-Bloc Blu 60 patio slabs in Champlain Gray. He has a good portion of the pavers down now and I have to say I'm loving how they look!
(excuse the photo quality - this was taken through my living room window!)
Once the patio has been laid come the fun part - adding all the furniture and decorative touches! Here's what I'm thinking:
It's definitely more of a modern boho vibe, which a whole new look from my usual decorating style but I'm excited to try something new! There will still be some hints of blue and gray but I will be heavily accenting with black for the first time ever! I'm excited (and a bit scared) and can't wait to see how it all comes together in real life.
The slabs will all be down within the next 4 days or so and once all the items I've ordered starting coming in, I'll be sharing all the in-progress details on my Instagram Stories. Of course, the final reveal will be shared here hopefully in the next couple of weeks!
