If you’ve been following along on Instagram Stories, you’ll know that our fireplace is getting a MAJOR makeover!
Even though the painted brick was a huge improvement on what it looked like previously, the tiny mantel has bugged me from the day we moved into this house.
- Build out the mantel and entire fireplace surround so that it is no longer flush with the wall
- Everywhere that currently has brick will be tiled with marble mosaic
- Add an electric fireplace insert
It sounds so easy when it’s summarized into 3 steps! We worked on it last week and a little bit this past weekend and we are almost finished. I can’t wait to share the finished product with you and re-decorate my mantel for Christmas!
You can see from the photo above that I forgot to take a photo before I ripped off the quarter round. But it actually gives you a good idea of the color of the brick before it was painted white.
And so that you’ve got an idea of where we are going, here’s my inspiration board:
I’m hopeful that we will be finished by the weekend so that I can share it with you next week, along with all the tutorials on how to achieve the same look in your home!
