I used smooth Ball jars made especially for crafts (no embossed logos in the glass!) and jazzed up the finished product with some ribbon, pink rhinestones and felt conversation hearts.
Don't you think these made a great gift for friends, family or your child's teacher?
Want to make your own?
Ingredients:
1 ⅓ cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup cooking oats
¾ cup Red Velvet M&M's®
¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
½ cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup white sugar
I layered my ingredients in the jar as follows:
- flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt
- oats
- M&M's®
- chocolate chips
- brown sugar
- white sugar
You will need to REALLY pack everything down so that all the ingredients fit. I used the flat end of a kitchen utensil but anything that's flat and that will fit into the jar will do.
They don't just look cute in the jar either. This mix makes a really yummy cookie!
All you need to add to the dry mix is:
- 1 egg (lightly beaten)
- 1 tsp vanilla
- ¼ cup of butter (slightly melted)
Mix all the ingredients together and refrigerate the dough for 30 mins. This helps to make them soft and fluffy.
Roll the cookie dough into 1 ½ inch balls, place on a parchment covered baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes at 350 degrees . You can expect to get about 20 - 25 cookies from this recipe.
Pin now and make later :-)
