Simple Fall Tablescape

Creating a fall tablescape doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. Incorporating everyday items and seasonal elements, like pumpkins, gourds, foliage, and candles can provide a beautiful and festive touch to your table setting.

Additionally, using table linens in autumnal hues, rustic dinnerware, and an eye-catching centerpiece, such as a vase filled with branches or autumn flowers, will elevate the overall look.

A simple fall tablescape is the perfect way to quickly and affordably refresh your dining space for the season. Using items I already owned, including my favorite Walmart dinnerware set, I simply layered in from fresh greenery & mini pumpkins plus a few other new items that I found on Walmart.com. I love how easy it is to find new seasonal items from the comfort of my own home, and everything gets shipped so quickly!

You don’t need anything fancy or expensive to create a stunning table setting. My runner of eucalyptus and mini pumpkins set the scene and then some neutral elements (that work all year round) tie it all together.

I couldn’t believe my luck when I found these fringed placemats on Walmart! They look so high end but the price was amazing, plus the were delivered the next day!

And while they are perfect for this fall table setting, their neutral color will work anytime of the year.

I layered my favorite dinnerware set on top with simple white napkins and matching napkin rings also from Walmart. Then finished it with hammered stainless steel flatware.

The blue/gray glasses are a nod to the blue that I always like to include, but I love the moody tone of the color of these ones.

The small wood-base hurricanes are so pretty and will be perfect for the holidays, too. I ordered a couple of small unscented candles for them that will last me several months.

The dark red sedum was plucked straight from my garden. If those deep burgundy tones don’t scream fall I don’t know what does!

Instead of using a runner down the center of the table, I always love to use an inexpensive bunch of eucalyptus. It’s a great choice for fall, but also for the entire holiday season. For this tablescape, I used one bunch of seeded eucalyptus and one bunch of silver dollar eucalyptus.

If you can’t find eucalyptus at your grocery store, it’s a good idea to ask. Sometimes it’s kept in a cooler to be used as filler for bouquets. The mini pumpkins should be readily available at this time of the year, but of course you can switch them out in favor of orange ones or different types of gourds if you prefer.

Tips For Creating a Simple Fall Tablescape

1. Decide on a color palette. I like to keep things neutral and add color with greenery and flowers.
2. Start with a piece that serves as the foundation for your design. This might be your placemats, dinnerware set or even a tablecloth.
3. Add in coordinating elements: A dinnerware set that matches or that is a complementary color and napkins that are neutral or add a pop of color or pattern.
4. Don’t forget the flatware! Silverware is traditional and always looks great, but gold flatware and matte black flatware look modern and stunning, too.

Creating a beautiful fall tablescape doesn’t have to be a huge undertaking. As you can see, with a few seasonally appropriate items and some fresh greenery, you can bring fall to your table in a matter of minutes!
